What SinSubz is

SinSubz is a tool that translates subtitle text (SRT files) from English into Sinhala. SinSubz does not host, stream or distribute movies, TV episodes or any other video. It does not store the original subtitle files it receives from other sources, and it does not claim ownership of any film, series or subtitle text.

Where subtitles come from

  • Files you upload. You are responsible for having the right to use and translate the file you upload.
  • Third-party subtitle providers. When you search by title, the original English subtitle is fetched from an outside subtitle provider. Those files belong to their authors and providers, and their own terms apply.
  • Translations. The Sinhala text is produced automatically from the file you chose. A translated subtitle is a derivative of the original work, so the rights of the original authors still apply to it.

Respect for creators

Please use SinSubz only for subtitles you may lawfully use, for example for a film you own or have legally obtained, for personal viewing, or for content whose owner allows translation. Do not use the service to publish or sell translated subtitles that you have no right to share.

How to send a takedown notice

If you own a copyright, or act for the owner, and believe that content connected to SinSubz infringes it (for example a saved translation in the shared library), send an email to the address below with:

  1. Your name, your role and your contact details.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. The title of the movie or series and, if you have it, the page address or the file name of the translation you want removed.
  4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, the owner's agent or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Email: visaludyogi2002@gmail.com. We aim to answer within a few working days and remove the identified translation promptly after a valid notice.

Counter-notice

If you believe something was removed by mistake, write to the same address with the title of the item, a statement that you believe the removal was a mistake, and your contact details. We will review it and, where appropriate, restore the item.

Repeat infringers

We may block users or content sources that repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
