SinSubz provides tools to search for subtitles, edit SRT files and translate subtitle dialogue into Sinhala. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be processed when you use these features.

3. AI Translation Providers

When you request an AI translation, subtitle text is sent through the website's translation API to the configured Google Gemini service for processing.

Information processed by Google is subject to the applicable Google service terms and privacy policies. Review Google's policies before submitting information that may be sensitive.

AI-generated translations may be inaccurate or incomplete. Please review the resulting subtitles before using or sharing them.

4. Movie and Subtitle Search Services

Search features may communicate with external movie databases, subtitle providers and other configured services. Relevant search terms or identifiers may be sent to those services to retrieve results.

When you open a third-party subtitle link, that provider's own privacy policy and terms apply. SinSubz does not control external websites or their data practices.

5. File Processing and Retention

Subtitle files are processed to provide the features you request. Translation requests may send subtitle text to the website's server and configured AI provider.

Movie files: When you use the subtitle sync feature and choose a movie file, the file is not uploaded. Your browser reads only the file name, file size and video length on your own device. The file name (for example, the title) may be used to search for matching English subtitles.

The exact handling of server logs, temporary data and provider records depends on the deployed backend, hosting configuration and third-party providers. Do not assume that submitting a file guarantees immediate deletion from every system.

Avoid submitting passwords, confidential documents, personal information or any content you do not have permission to process.

6. Copyright and Permission

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights or permission to upload, translate, modify and use subtitle content.

7. Security

Reasonable measures should be used to protect the service and its API credentials. However, no website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

SinSubz is not intended to collect personal information from children. Please contact us if you believe personal information has been submitted improperly.

9. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when the website's features, providers or data practices change. The date at the top indicates when this page was last updated.

10. Advertising

SinSubz currently shows no ads in the Android app, the Windows app or on the website.

11. Google sign-in and cloud sync (Android app and website)

If you choose to sign in with Google in the Android app or on the website, we receive your name, email address and a unique account ID from Google. If you sign in, your translation history (titles and dates of finished translations), translation settings and app settings (such as the theme) are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) under your account so they can be restored on another device. Only you can read this data. Signing in is optional: the app works without it. You can sign out at any time, and you can ask us to delete your stored data through the contact page.
